Your Intention Truly Matters…
I was on Facebook recently and I decided to watch some reels. Out of these reels I watched one where a guy had to pretend to be in need of help, he acted like a disabled human with bandages all around his legs and arms. Then he went around asking people for money, help and assistance.
I at first thought it was real but at the end of it I realized it was just a skit he made. He went to several people but they ignored him. Some didn’t even bother giving him any attention and some threw words at him, some felt pathetic, but there was no means of helping. Then he got to a woman who was also a street beggar. And asked her for help.
I don't really know if it was planned when I realized it was a skit, but for real, the woman had less on her but out of pity on his condition she gave out some of what she had on her to him and asked him to care for himself. He realized the true intentions behind this woman’s charity and decided to bless her with a huge amount of money that can change her life for good.
Should i say she is so lucky? Or what? But her true intentions paid off for her. At times it's not always about wealth alone or the mentality some have that I can't give until I am rich and wealthy enough. The real and true givers are those that can give even at their lowest without expecting anything in return.
There is a Yoruba adage that says “ A child who would be brave and smart would be identified right from their young age” so anyone who would give when they are wealthy must have been giving out before they got wealthier.
Though we now live in a scary world where a lot of people are scared to give or even take from people. The world we find ourselves in, especially in this part of the world where I reside, people have become so heartless and wicked. There are no or just a few people with true intentions.
It was all about those that give out charity before, but nowaday it's all about both the givers and the receivers. Everyone has to be careful and watchful of their acts.
My brother recently told me that he can't give out cash to those that randomly ask for money on the street again. His reasons were because this set of people would approach you saying that they are hungry and then get money from you, then use the money for all sorts of bad vices. What a world!
Before it was those that give out to people that were suspected of such acts but now it’s on both ends. And this won't even allow me to blame anyone for giving or not giving. These days I think it's even better to judge some people’s books by their cover before giving out. Your intention doesn’t matter to them.
But as for people you know well, there is nothing stopping us from giving out genuinely without expecting anything in return. As for those that also give out for some reasons, it is advisable they have a change in their intentions. There is surely a reward for everything. Since no one knows tomorrow. But giving out to show off or to disrespect and devalue someone is so bad.
This is my response to the HIVE LEARNERS weekly prompt in hive learners community for the Week 126 Edition 1 and the topic to be discussed is FROM THE HEART

When the world becomes a better place, everyone will enjoy it.
I can't imagine the lengths in which people will go to, just to get views and followers on socials. Its quite disappointing.
It's really scary to help nowadays that people's hearts are full of evil. Both the receivers and the givers have to be careful.
Giving is something that should come from love and not for showoff. Unfortunately, people nowadays give to get names for themselves.
It's been a while bro, how have you been?
