My Travel Experience; A Trip To Ondo State
Life is good if you are with the right people, at the right place, and at the right time. Good people in your life will surely give you the best experience of life, and you will be able to go places just by mingling with them.
I have been minding my business for over two years now, putting all of my focus, strength, and attention into it. I actually believe that if I put full focus into it, then it will have a good and strong foundation. When the time comes, the foundation will be solid, so building up won't be an issue. At that point, the risk of running out of business will be lowered.
So most of my days are just cycled from waking up, getting to the little farm, checking my fish, working till night time, coming online when needed, then the next day cycles the same thing. I have always found it difficult to step outdoors. But at the same time, I am always in anticipation of any little means of seeing the world because I am surely the type that loves going outdoors.
Late last year the time finally came!! I had the opportunity to break the cycle. I was able to state a reason to travel from my zone and see some other places. One thing about traveling is that if you are not financially buoyant enough you will just be claiming an introvert when you shouldn’t. It's just money holding you down.
A visit to Ondo State.
Ondo State is my paternal mother's hometown. Akure to be precise. He has always told us a lot about the city. But going there, it was only my younger sister that went there. Upon her return, she added to our imaginations. Since then I have patiently waited for my time to come. It took about a decade before it could happen. But it finally came to pass.
My roommate had to prepare for his wedding, which would be held in his hometown, Ondo State. Finally, for about three months I have been preparing because I don't just plan to go on the wedding day and then return the next day.
I made plans for a week-long vacation from work. All preparations are set. Then we journeyed down there. He picked a bus from Lagos and I tagged along the way. I was a little familiar with the road not until we got to the state border. Then everything changed, the tradition, environment, language, roads, and even weather.
The state was so peaceful. I love it so much compared to the hustling and bustling Lagos state here. Woke up in the morning to the noise of the birds, the cool breeze from the greenery around me was overwhelming. The mind-blowing part of it was the rocks all around. No wonder it's known as a hilly state. Now I saw all of those stories Dad told us in reality.
Saw people build houses on rocks and hills. Some paths crossed between two rocks, and there was a hill I saw where it appeared like there was smoke emerging from the top part of it, and it almost touched the sky. I was amazed to see all of them.
I won't lie, I enjoyed my stay over there, not to talk about the welcoming meal I got served and the soft introduction they gave me because it was my first time there. I told my friend to allow us to explore more places which we did. Visited some restaurants, parks, marketplaces, and a lot more.
It's kinda sad that for now, I don't know when I will have the chance to explore again like I did. For about five months now I haven't planned any travel. Maybe before the year ends I might have one planned for me.
