Laptop, Phone & Powerbank

My Naija people!! How una dey!

I have been the type that tries my best to get what I want for myself. I know it might not come easy, but since I attained the age where I can start catering for my needs I have always seen the need to go for what I want and not even settle for less in any way.

I also prefer to choose quality over quantity. Quality is important in the sense that what I want to buy might seem costly, but I would like to go for it despite the cost rather than narrow down and go for something much less without quality.

This got me to the extent that I appreciate buying new things. Though not all the time, it's something I prefer. Down to my gadgets, I have always loved to unbox them and first hand use them. I have done that with all the phones I have used. I will go to a store to buy new ones, unbox them, and also enjoy them.

I thought I could keep the trend until it was time for me to get something way more expensive than phones. It was in my final year and I had to get a laptop for my project work. I am not a laptop guy, I just feel more comfortable on my phone. However, my phone usage was limited at some point.

Then I had to get a laptop. I checked online for different specs and brands of new laptops, I didn't even bother checking again. I knew I had trespassed my level at that point. It's time I opt for a fairly used product instead of my dream of getting a new one.

I started saving up from my allowances and any other money I got, gradually, till it was almost enough to get me a fairly used laptop. Then I went for it. The laptop was not my dream spec, but it wasn’t that bad at all. It served me well for my project work and made it faster for me.

Another thing I enjoyed with my laptop was watching movies. The laptop served its purpose and is still functioning but with a lot of issues beyond repair.

My present phone is just another asset I knew I spent huge on. Back then when I bought the phone I knew how my friends were wowed and so surprised I could spend such an amount on a phone. They never knew I had a purpose for spending such an amount on a phone.

One of them even accused me of lavish spending. But deep inside of me, I knew I owed nobody an explanation. So I did what I was supposed to do. My reason for buying a costly phone then was that I knew it wasn’t just a liability for me, but an asset that would work so well for me over time. I have been using my phone for over three years now without any issues. I chose it because I knew it would be an advantage for me and my online work.

I am still using that same phone to date and I can say the phone has given me multiple folds the amount I spent buying it. I didn’t buy it new either, but it was so much closer to getting something new, and this assured me that the phone would last me longer than expected. Which I am grateful it did.

I bought this power bank when I was so much in need of one. The power bank would work fine for my device and always make me feel less in need of charging. I went to a store and priced the power bank, I was told the price, but as of that moment the money on I couldn’t even pay half the price, the amount I budgeted would just get me something lesser which I don't want. So I had to postpone it until some other time.

The next time I visited that same store after a few weeks, I already had the amount I should have used to buy it, then I added some additional funds In case of a price increase. When I got to the same store again to buy it. All of the funds on me couldn’t buy the power bank again. Then the price went triple the initial price.

I had to borrow money to complete the amount with me and buy it that day. I never had a regret buying the power bank then. It was a strong one. And I enjoyed using it. I have been using it up to date.

I love to buy things with more quality and I know they would surely last me for longer. The assurance and warranty on them is just another confidence on its own. I believe when I buy something worth it, then it should be worth it for real.

No doubt, these are really important gadgets for you. People who don't know how important that are to you will say different things but as you have said, you owe nobody an explanation.

Thanks for participating in the HN weekly prompt.

Rich kid rich kid, these gadgets are expensive, like the power bank it must be very expensive cause it comes in a box..

Going for quality is the best, not minding others' opinions like you've said "You owe nobody an explanation"
