Childhood memories

My Naija people!! How una dey!

There is a clear difference between childhood and adulthood. And these differences are from the fact that we tend to have some behaviors we feel are childish and it's based on the little way of understanding we have then.

Our maturity grows as we continue to age gradually, we begin to see solutions to some things we never thought of and that became a part of us. Some of us battled with some bad vices and addiction as a child but with time they began to fade away gradually.

I have a friend who is so addicted to playing games. He loves to play Play PlayStation games so much that to some extent he would steal his parents' funds to play the game. He can go to any extent to earn money to play the game.

His mum would have him caught red-handed and still beat the hell out of him. But that doesn’t serve a lesson to him. He is going there the next day to play. Years passed by and the next time I met with him I asked about his addiction to playing PlayStation games. He smiled away and said he was a changed man now. I guess life has taught him one or two already.

My cousin living with us has been getting himself into serious issues lately. I don't know why he is always so adamant when he tells lies. Even if he was caught in the act, he would still deny it blindly. He never admits to his fault and this has been putting him into countless troubles.

At times we assume he is still a child, but I think even as a child we ought to learn from mistakes, especially those that keep putting us in trouble. My cousin has been this way seen when he was a child and now he is in his teenage years and still getting worse. I hope he will realize the fault of his actions someday and change too.

Lastly, I can't say exactly what has been putting me into trouble as a kid. But I can remember clearly how much I get flogged over my studies. Is it about having my pencil lost or stolen almost every day of the week?

There was a time when Mum had to teach us how the clock works. Those times were crazy. No matter what I still didn’t get it. But with time I got to master it myself. About the stolen pen and pencil, it was so easy to overcome that since I knew how much I would get scolded at home. We got the trick of scratching away the paint on the pencil and then shading our name on it with a pen.

Even if you have the same pen as mine. Then you can’t have the same name. Other childhood habits that could get me into trouble were something we were not even given the chance to do at all. Since dad is so disciplined and mum won't tolerate the same. So we were good to go as children.

Looking back, I don't think I got into much trouble as a kid. I was a gentle child. On the other hand, my brother was a handful.

Your cousin needs the flog of a holy cane and you know the only person who has this came, well "it's me" yeah!!!😁😁

I didn't get into trouble growing up, I'm this lovable kid who everyone loves and wants to be around.

This brought back memories, I also did this in my primary school but it still didn't stop some smart kids from stealing pencil 😂
