A Smart Home
There was a time when I was in university. It’s not something that happens occasionally, but once in a while, we always experience cases of theft around. And if it happens, they usually steal a lot of important things.
They don't even care about the pain they will leave behind for those who own those things, they don't even care if the place is holy or sacred. All they are after is what they want. At some point, a friend of mine told me about how they put a gun to his head and asked him to drop all of his gadgets.
The funniest part of it was that the doors to his home were all of these security doors. But they opened it with a strong kick that almost damaged the door. So when we got there I was surprised that even a security door couldn’t secure itself not to talk of securing those in it.
A smart home.
Anything smart works fine with me because I am also smart and like the smart things around me. Knowing what to do at the right time and doing it without anyone forcing it on you is one of my favorite attitudes in a person. So how about a smart guy living in a smart home? Won’t that complement?
The first time I heard about smart TV, I never knew the difference between it and normal TV. How does smart TV work?
I later came to realize that smart TV functions in a way better than normal TV in the sense that it has a smart remote that controls it and also has access to the internet. It can perform everything a normal TV can and also perform those a normal TV can’t. I guess that's enough for it to be smarter.
So I was able to log in to my Netflix on the smart TV. That was something I was limited to my laptop and phone before. I logged in to YouTube and watched several updates like I was browsing them on my phone. I love those features on a TV.
A smart door
I have experienced smart doors too. But it's just that it's not something so common. You hardly see people use it in their homes except for luxury homes, hotel companies, or restaurants. These doors have face recognition, smart cards, and an automated opening and lock system.
Smart light
Another interesting part, these are lights they have sensors to know when someone comes in, when it's time to dim, and time to brighten up. I would also like this feature in my home because I don't need to keep looking for a switch before I can enter the house at night or in the dark.
In conclusion
I would say that a smart home is an amazing one. I guess it’s everyone’s choice. The little problem is that it's not everyone that can afford it. If I were to pick a home of my choice and I have the option to pick a smart home, I would go for it, and this is not really because of the cost, but because of the comfort that comes from it.

The thieves, sophisticated ones... if they are capable to hack your computer (and we all know they are), it would be even easier for them to hack some smart-home system, not only by opening the door, but by doing many other crazy stuff like switching on and off devices connected to it (i.e., heating, air-conditioning, dishwasher, oven, microwave, washing machine, dryer, fridge, opening and closing the blinds, etc.) all of which may increase the owner's utility expenses, and not to mention making the owner entirely insane or even unable to stop it.
Did you think about that aspect of "smart homes" too?!
