Intermodal Train Makes A Loud Bang Sound That Made Me Do A Backflip

I saw an intermodal train that I thought I missed. I chased after him and saw he was stopped. He was stopped for about 10-15 minutes. Then, as the train took off, it made a loud bang sound. Then an autorack train, I guess, waits for permission to enter a yard/siding, and Canadian National comes through. I guessed the autorack waited for CN to clear the track the autorack needed to use.
