January 2025 Book Reading List

January 2025 Book Reading List

Books im reading.jpeg

I'm writing this brief memo as a friendly reminder to myself: these are my intentions at the start of this New Year. What follows is a list of what I'm currently reading, and what I'm intending to read throughout 2025.

Carefully Selecting Self-Sabotage as your New Year's Irresolution.

So could a memo or list like this cause a lower rate of decay for my reading list intentions?
Yes, and it's due to recording what I'm reading right now so I can then list what I'm intending to read next.

We aren't disappointed when the next day in January comes to a close, with the setting sun serving to remind us that this must be the month of decaying intentions. So one then asks, do we subject ourselves to each new day in January compounding the rate of decaying intentions? And if so, why do we?

January's New Year's Resolutions are typically made by the careful selection of Irresolutions; ergo, how I go about selecting my resolutions is a silly process for minimal chances of achievement to be the intended resolution. By gradually decreasing my remnants of resolve, each day's end increases the rate of decay awaiting us tomorrow.

Does that mean I'm committed to achieving lesser chances of success? Yes.
I'm ensuring that the potential ranges of rates of decay continue to irresolutely stay in my way!

In the meantime, please feel free to disregard the above nonsensical witticisms, and follow my Goodreads.com user account (Gabriel).

Out of the above books, it's The Hellmakers which I'm most engrossed by. It's a book written by John C. Grover an Australian ex-military serviceman who served in the Royal Australian Engineers during World War II. He then followed a distinguished career in the earth sciences and mining industry.
What astounded me about The Hellmakers is the information regarding The Fabian Society, and in particular the info detailing it's profound success in Australia. I haven't seen this information anywhere else and John Grover's easy reading, direct style of writing makes this book an essential for Australian political researchers with an interest in historical revisionism. I highly recommend this book and it can purchased for a very reasonable price of $8.00 from Veritas Publishing's online store.

I bought Hieronymus Bosch: The Complete Works as a Christmas present for myself. It's a very handsome tome, laden with glossy color plates illustrating the numerous painterly details inside of Bosch's immensely influential works. The author also does an incredibly thorough job of including biographical details of Bosch's life, many of which I have not come across before. For example, I was shocked to learn that Bosch was initiated into several secret societies / orders very early in his life and it appears these memberships were his way into esteemed aristocratic and royal company.

The Books of Jacob is a mammoth book of over 1,000 pages, centering upon the life and travels of Jacob Frank. Frank's life is a poorly understood story of a messianic Judaic figure whose traipsing around Ukraine, Poland, Turkey, Romania and its neighbouring nations during the late 1700's form a mysterious period of Central and Eastern Europe's history.
This book has personal relevance to myself and my family's life. It could reveal ancestral links to aspects of character and personality which originate not so much from my family, as from the oppressed and messianic mindset which Poland inherited as a nation.
I've had to pause reading this novel due to the sheer volume of connections and leads uncovered only 300 or so pages into the text. If I end up traveling to Poland this year, I'll make sure to complete reading it so I can plan my itinerary around visiting several key locations mentioned in the book.

He'll Be OK - Growing Gorgeous Boys Into Good Men is a book I picked up for nothing from the local Baptist Church during election season. It hosts polling booths each election, managing a sausage sizzle and small book sale at the front of their premises.
I grabbed this book because it didn't look like the many anti-male or anti-masculinity books which festoon school curriculum or mainstream bookshops of the present day and from the little I've read of it, it's certainly left me perplexed. The short of it is that the author of this book founded an educational program for young boys and men that toured schools throughout Australia and New Zealand. It appeared to be doing so much good for the future men of Australia & New Zealand that it had to be abolished? I'm not sure what happened, but I do intend to find out once I pick the book up again and pursue further investigations.

Therapeutic Trances: The Cooperation Principle in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy is something I scored cheaply from https://bookgrocer.com/ a couple of months ago. It's on a topic that I think is crucial to understand for those amongst us who are still questioning how they can communicate to others, when they seem to not listen at all. Specifically on the topic of government overreach and mass medical mandate manipulation / coercion.

Books to read..

Why Am I Seeing This? How Video & E-Commerce Platforms Use Recommendation Systems to Shape User Experiences (Open Technology Institute final report)Spandana Singh2020

Judaism Discovered has probably remained on my wish / watchlist the longest out of all the titles I've sought. You may have noticed that its author, Michael Hoffman, appears multiple times on my lists and that's because of the high esteem I hold for him, and his masterful scholarship.
Several of his titles are banned from retailers such as Amazon and these are incredibly difficult to find online (for a reasonable price at least). I've been communicating with Mr Hoffman directly regarding my difficulties in obtaining a copy of Judaism Discovered (preferably in hardcover) and he implored me to write to him.
I held out though, knowing the cost to purchase and ship this book in hardcover edition would easily exceed $400 AUD. The softcover version costs $169.95 USD and probably another $80 USD shipping to purchase direct from Mr Hoffman. Considering the immense size of this book (over 1,100 pages) and the immense value of its contents, I really wanted it in hardcover and I can see a recent listing on ebay selling a hardcover & author's autographed copy for $395 USD + postage.
So I'm feeling blessed to know I scored a copy from an Australian bookshop for $200 AUD, shipped!

Book Addicts Unite!

So is anyone else a book addict? I've joined a few online book clubs but the titles they read together don't tend to steer anywhere near close to my interests. Is anyone else a part of a book club? Let me know, maybe we can start one together.
