Can a security guard use weapons to kill for self-protection? | The Old Path

One of the possible questions that people in a country where weapons are legalize can ask - "can I use weapons for self protection?" As we know, a security guard, police officer or anybody in the armed forces of any nation are the legalized people to be with weapons; and these weapons are meant to be used in carrying duties which is to protect lives and property. From my understanding in Bro Eli's teaching, the duty of a security duty is to protect other people's lives, and as a believer we are meant to be our brother's keeper - protecting their properties even in their absence.

We will be seen to be a coward if criminals who carry guns come to attack us and we stay quiet without defending ourselves. So, brother Eli stated that self-defense is not a sin, relating it with the book of Moses in Numbers 35:10-32. The scripture explained what happens that if you are just defending yourself and it so happened you were able to kill a man because of self-defense intentionally or unintentionally.

From the above scripture (Numbers 35:10-32), Bro Eli explained God's instruction to the Israel who happened to man slayer unintentionally - sometime we have people who may kill another unaware - meaning you do not have the intent to kill it's just an accident like while you are driving a car and there is an old man crossing the street without looking and then it happened that you ran over the man and the relatives would want to kill you; that's why God appointed six cities in Israel, it's a man slayer or somebody who killed accidentally or unintentionally may run to seek refuge because if the relatives of the victim see you they might at once avenge and kill you.

Brother Eli's advice to the security agencies who are believers:

God's justice dictates that if you kill anybody protecting lives and property as a security personnel which is your duty then it is not a grave sin in the sight of God; but as police members, to be a sharp suitor, do not shoot a person in the head or in the chest if you are confronted with a criminal. If you are a sharpshooter you just disable the criminal.
